Morning Beach Conditions

May 10, 2024

MODERATE rip current risk south of Oregon Inlet to Ocracoke. Only experienced surf swimmers who know how to escape a rip current should enter the water with proper thermal protection. Never swim alone and always take flotation!

LOW rip current risk at beaches from Duck to Oregon Inlet. While the risk for rip currents is low, life-threatening rip currents may still be present.  Remember LOW risk does not mean NO risk!

Strongest rip currents often occur a couple hours either side of low tide, which is around 10:00 am/pm today.

Expect mostly sunny skies today until 3 PM, then mostly cloudy, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.  High temperatures in the upper 70’s, west winds around 10 mph. Water Temperatures: Jennette’s Pier: 63. Oregon Inlet Marina...73. Avon Pier...56.

Ocean Rescue staffing is at off season levels. If help is needed, know your location and call 911!
